In Australia, cosmetic nurses are restricted from advertising injectables due to regulations set by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and other relevant bodies such as AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). These regulations aim to ensure that information about medical treatments is accurate, ethical, and not misleading, and to ensure advertisements do not exaggerate the benefits, or downplay the risks associated with Medical Aesthetic treatments.
In line with these regulations, it is impermissible to advertise any Schedule 4 medications, either directly or indirectly. This extends to the use of sharing testimonials, making claims about the goods, sharing before and afters with results that indicate injectables have been administered, and even sharing injectables price lists.
Therefore, all discussions regarding anti ageing treatments involving Schedule 4 Medications must now be conducted in a clinical setting during a formal consultation process.
