REJURAN® — Understanding This Regenerative Skin Treatment

An educational overview from The Aesthetic Collective

In recent years, aesthetic medicine has moved beyond surface-level rejuvenation toward treatments that work with the skin’s own biology. One of the leading examples is REJURAN®, a treatment designed to support the skin’s natural repair and regeneration processes.

What Is REJURAN®?

REJURAN® is a bio-remodelling injectable treatment originating from South Korea. It contains polynucleotides (PN) — fragments of DNA often derived from salmon — that are highly biocompatible with human tissue. Rather than focusing on filling lines or adding volume, REJURAN® is designed to improve skin quality by enhancing hydration, elasticity, and barrier repair. It is sometimes described as a regenerative or skin-booster therapy rather than a filler.

How Does It Work?

When small amounts of REJURAN® are injected into the skin’s superficial layers, the polynucleotides are thought to:

  • Stimulate fibroblast activity, encouraging collagen and elastin synthesis.
  • Support micro-circulation and skin barrier function.
  • Reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the dermal environment.

Over several weeks, the skin may appear smoother, more supple, and hydrated as its natural regenerative mechanisms take effect. The results tend to develop gradually rather than immediately.

Treatment Process

  1. Consultation
A thorough medical consultation is the first and most important step. We will assess your skin health, discuss your goals, and determine whether REJURAN® is appropriate for you.
  2. Procedure
During treatment, very fine injections are placed in multiple points across the target
area — often the face, under eye area, neck, or décolletage. The session generally
    takes 20–30 minutes.
A topical anaesthetic will be used to increase comfort.
  3. Aftercare
Mild redness, swelling, or small raised bumps (from injection sites) are expected and usually subside within 24–48 hours. You may be advised to avoid strenuous activity, heat, and makeup for one to two days. Treatment Course and Maintenance We recommend a series of 2–4 sessions, spaced about three to four weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Maintenance sessions every six to twelve months may help sustain the benefits. Your exact plan should always be tailored to your skin condition and goals.

Possible Outcomes

  • People often notice gradual improvement in:
  • Skin texture and tone
  • Fine lines and elasticity
  • Overall hydration and radiance

However, every individual responds differently. Factors such as age, skin type, lifestyle, and adherence to aftercare play a role in the outcome.

Risks and Side Effects

As with all injectable procedures, there are risks — even when performed correctly.

Common short-term effects include:

  • Redness or small bumps at injection sites
  • Mild bruising, tenderness, or swelling
  • Temporary unevenness, usually settling within a few days

Less common risks include:

Infection, allergic reaction, or inflammatory response. All treatments should be administered in a clinical setting by a qualified medical practitioner or registered nurse under medical supervision using sterile technique. Suitability and Precautions REJURAN® may not be suitable for everyone
